TATAJUBA
(Bagassa guianensis Aubi)
FEATURES: no characteristic odor or taste, yellow heartwood right after the cut, sometimes with darker strips. It becomes burned-dingy when exposure to light. Narrow sapwood, clearly distinguished from heartwood. Regular to crisscrossed grain, medium texture and high glow in longitudinal surfaces.
SOME APPLICATIONS: In indoor parts of constructions (frames, window frames, skirting boards), in outdoor constructions such as structures, poles, fence posts, sleepers, crosses, regular furniture, wooden floor tiles and wainscoting.
DENSITY: medium density wood, with 15% moisture content it weighs 750kg/m3.
